Testing our robots |
RM TeamDuring the 2015 Summer, I joined the RM Team from Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT). Our Team is mostly composed of undergraduate students from HIT, competing the 2015 RoboMaster competition.
The RoboMasters Competition is sponsored by DJI corporation. Because it's the first robot based combat competition in china, it attracted many Universities and enthusiast. The rule is simple, we need to operate our designed robots to fire adversary. Every robots has the energy detector sensor provided by DJI. The detector will turn red after the robot get enough hit. and whichever team has higher energy level after 5 minutes will win the game. |
Technique Gist |
MEMS - Microelectromechanical systems
Power Design and Management Signal Processing - All robots are operate in FPV (First person view) model, we need to video stream it to our laptop. Control System Mechanical design |
My Role |
Apart from mechanical problem, the electronic controlled system is also challenging. the robots are controlled by keyboard and mouse, the keyboard is controlled four motor, each motor is for a single wheel. The mouse is use to turning the ammunition and firing it. My role in the team is to designing such control system and calibrate it. If the system response is sluggish, we will miss the opportunity to aiming the target, but if the response is too sensitive, the robot will become very difficult to operate. After designing the system, majority of my time were spent to communicate with operator, get the feedback from them and calibrate my parameters.
